Tutoring Style

I provide Maths and English tutoring for pupils in Years 2 to 8, delivered online via Zoom. My teaching style closely reflects the engaging and supportive approach I used in the classroom during my 14 years as a Primary Teacher and Assistant Headteacher.

I believe learning should be enjoyable, purposeful, and appropriately challenging — helping children stay motivated and make strong progress. Each session is carefully tailored to the individual learner, with personalised feedback provided throughout to build confidence, address gaps, and extend their skills.

Whether a child needs support to catch up, a boost in confidence, or stretch beyond their year group, I adapt my teaching to meet them where they are.

Equipment 

All tutoring sessions take place online via Zoom and make full use of an interactive digital whiteboard, allowing for real-time explanations, modelling, and collaboration.

To get the most out of each session, it’s helpful for your child to use a device with a touchscreen (such as a tablet) so they can interact directly with the whiteboard. Alternatively, a laptop or desktop with a keyboard is particularly useful for English tuition, especially when working on writing tasks.

Headphones with a built-in microphone can also help minimise distractions and improve sound quality, though they are not essential. Whatever your setup, I’ll always do my best to make sure your child is comfortable, engaged, and well-supported in their learning environment.

Tuition Fees

I offer a range of flexible tutoring options to suit different needs and budgets:

• 1:1 sessions – £35 for 45 minutes

• 1:1 sessions – £45 for 60 minutes

• Paired sessions (two pupils) – £30 per child for 45 minutes

• Small group sessions (3–4 pupils) – £25 per child for 45 minutes
